About The Dunaways
In early 1993 a family ministry was born. The Dunaways were only babes in Christ, and in-experienced but they were eager and willing to do whatever and go where-ever God wanted. They began traveling in the family car sharing a simple testimony of how God changed their lives. Most of the services would be filled with gospel singing. A couple of years later, since their ministry was mostly music oriented, it was a big surprise to the family one night when Brother Dunaway started to give his usual testimony. He opened his bible and an hour or so later he had preached the glory down and the altars filled with hungry souls. Their ministry would never be the same again! When Kanah, (the Dunaways daughter and youngest child) was only eleven years old, they entered the studio as a family group for the first time. Over the next few years they would record a few custom albums and begin to receive regional airplay. God blessed and allowed The Dunaways to return to the studio for a new project in 2001. This project was the launching pad for a national music ministry. God graciously allowed The Dunaways to be used to minister both in a pastorate position as well as to people all over the country through christian radio. Their acceptance by radio includes the continued exposure of their music by the Solid Gospel Radio Network based in Nashville and heard in 115 markets nationwide, and many gospel radio stations across the country. Some of the larger venues where they have appeared include Crabbfest, The National Quartet Convention, Gospel Music Television World Premier, and radio programs including Front Porch Fellowship, The Gospel Greats with Paul Heil, and The Midnight Jamboree with Dottie Rambo. The Dunaways have also been recognized with many nominations and awards from the gospel music industry. In November of 2002, The Dunaways were signed to an exclusive contract with Family Music Group headed by label president Les Butler. FMG was the lable founded by Gerald Crabb and had carried many of the most notable family groups to radio in recent years including; The Crabb Family, The Hoskins Family, The McRaes and others. In December of 2005, Les Butler retired the FMG label after he was named Director of Business Relations for the Singing News Magazine. Effective in January of 2006, Zion Music Group of Nashville TN headed by label president Kevin McManus signed The Dunaways to a new record deal and is their new recording home.
Today The Dunaways are working in full time ministry. Their son Davy and wife Nicole manage the family's Christian bookstore located on the town square.

Lawayne makes his home next to the rest of The Dunaways and has been adopted as part of the family. Lawayne is back in school persuing a career as a nurse anethesis. He enjoys hunting, water sports, playing the piano, music, singing. The Dunaways enjoy living as a very close family both in their feelings for each other and as neighbors. Randall and Tammy are next door neighbors to Davy, Nicole, and Jaxon . Kanah and Josh live just down the road and Lawayne lives nearby as well.
