Dunaways Update "Babies"
Hello!
We are all just as blessed as we can be. Staying very busy pastoring and raising a pile
of babies. We have all sorts of babies around here. We have kitty babies, bitty babies, human
babies, born again babies. Babies are a JOB!
Hattie is about to catch Emmy Kate in length. Both are doing awesome! Hattie's problems
were related to food allergies. Emmy Kate will be one year old August 2nd. She LOVES her
paw paw's. All of them. Us maw maw's will do in a bind though.
Jaxon is growing and being a summertime boy. All are our hearts.
Our church is still growing and many lives are being changed especially in the current revival we are having with Brother Jerry Holland of Nashville, TN. Wow it has been truly amazing!
We are singing at the UPCI MS District Campmeeting in Jackson, MS (Raymond) on Wednesday night, July 9th. The Dunaways on a couple of songs and our church's ensemble will be singing also.
We miss our friends and concerts. I think it is very amazing that God already knew what gas would cost now making it very difficult to afford to travel. When we came off the road I said WHY Lord? LOL! If we could see the future we would not have a chance to trust and obey. It is so much better to just obey God and let Him take care of us.
Well if you wind up reading this, I hope you are having a wonderful summer. God is Good and
I pray that He is having His perfect will in your life!

The Color of Life Encouragement from Candy
The Color of Life
There are flowers in the garden of a soul. The fragrance of love is in the air. The senses of a spirit can taste the sweetness of life. The roses bloom in many shades. Sometimes there are thorns along the way. The butterflies flutter by every now and again. The winds send a tingling sensation of lavander through the breezes that tickle the tips of the nose. Bees are buzzing. The trickle of rain can be heard. The birds sing their lulabye. Ah it is the color of life.
Jesus spent time with His friends. The Lord even went apart and took time to be alone with the Father. We all have to take time to let others know we love them. We need to be alone sometimes too. Take time to empty the clutter. Meditate on the Lord. Read His Word. Listen to anointed music. Close our eyes and take in a deep breath, hold it and then let it out. Life has many shades. Somedays we laugh. Other days we cry. Sometimes we're up and sometimes we are down. Keep your soul fed.
Paint a picture in your imagination. Activate your faith. Think on the good things. Recall the prayers God has answered in the past. Praise Him! Give Him glory. Never let your hopes and dreams in life die. God gave you the good desires that your heart longs for. Lift those visions up to Him in prayer. Do all you can and leave the rest to Him. The colors of life are vivid. The masterpiece of our destiny is on the canvas of Gods thoughts. He know the things He desires to bless you with. Open up and let Him lavish His love on you.
Enjoy your moments. After they are gone it's too late. So tell them you love them every day. Hug them. Kiss them. Hold their hands. Live a full life. When you get to the end of this one you will not have to look back in regrets if you do. Live it for the Lord. After all He gave it to you to live it that way.

Mount Pilot Encouragement from Candy
Mount Pilot
Watching the Andy Griffith show the other night I heard that Mount Pilot is only 12 miles from Mayberry. I almost fell out laughing. How wonderful it must have been living in such a simplier time. When life was slow and honest. When people loved people. Neighbors knew one another and took time to be neighborly. Days of sitting on the front porch so that you can see folks that pass by.
Times where penny filled piggy banks were worth a trip to the store. Hours out by the fishing hole. Sunday morning walks after church. Family gatherings all around the dinner table. Talks where people told you how they really feel and took time to listen to you as well...and they cared, for real. How precious a day that much have been. Sleeping with the windows open and the doors unlocked. Never worrying about who was robbing you blind while you drove to town. Children playing ball with one another out in the street. The days of party lines. Pic nics where the whole town showed up. WOW!
I believe Heaven is going to be awesome. Streets of gold. Gates of pearl. Walls of jasper. Crystal clear river. Jesus will the light. There will never be night. Heaven is the greatest place to live. Only peace and happiness and joy. No more tears. No pain. No broken hearts. No burdens. No crosses to carry. No lies. No thieves. No more death. Peace and bliss. Heaven sounds so sweet.
Today we all face things that we feel like we cannot even talk about. We find it hard to express how much things hurt us. I see it in the eyes of those who try to reach out for help. They say a few words to try to ask you for prayer but the things they don't tell are still all bottled up inside of them. It is hard to find a place to slow down in such a fast paced world.
Can you remember the last time you had a day that was the best day you ever thought you'd have? Take time to praise God for all the little nuggets of gold in your life. Your breath. Your family. Your right mind!! There are things we still need to praise God for. let go of the jealousy and greed that makes people want for something just because somebody else has it. Turn loose of the spirit that wants to chain you up before you turn into what your enemies are. Let peoples attitude toward you no longer matter.
Reach up for a God who loves you more than you will ever know. Show people you love them. Talk is cheap. Act like you care if you really do. People know when you are fake. If you are broken hearted today there is a God out there who can mend every place you hurt. Cry out for the things you need and
He will hear you. I love this verse so much today. Read it over and over till it sinks in.
Psalms 102:17 HE will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
BEST POEM IN THE WORLD!
I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners ,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'!!!!!!!
JUDGE NOT.

Country Life Encouragement from Candy
Country Life
I have been working on some writings. It is a way to help me relax. Sometimes I write when I feel the Lord draw me to do it. Other times I use it as a way to vent and let go of some junk that is weighing me down. This is something I was working on but it is not even close to being finished. Still I wanted to share it with you today. I was very sick this weekend. I needed to take a break so I grabbed my laptop and went on a little trip.
You can try it sometime. I urge you to let your mind have a moment of relaxation every now and again. Let the love of God come in your heart today. Open up your life to Him. Get a journal and start to jot down some feelings. If you do not like what it says then rip that page out and throw it away. Use that trash as a way of releasing the negative stuff for that day. God is a refuge!! The bible was "written" and I was commanded to "write" so I know it is a good thing. Practice it today. See if it helps you.
I pray you enjoy riding with me today:
I’m going to get lost today. I will crawl into the car and just drive. There are so many streets in this ole sleepy town that I have never been down. Today I will see where they all go. I am not sure where I will end up but it’s the trip that makes the journey worth the while. Are you ready? Come on get in and buckle up. Enjoy the ride. I can smell the clean country air. The top is down and the skies are crystal clear. There is nothing like a drive out on a long stretch of dirt road. Where it ends remains to be seen.
The radio is on and the wind is in my hair. There is nothing but a thin line of green trees in the rear view and wide open spaces out in front of me.Over to the left way out in the distance is a lake. The wild ducks are coming in for a landing. Out in the center of the field are black and white cows grazing in lush pastures. On the other side of this road I see a lane that leads up to an old farmhouse. Trees hang with flowers in season on each side of this long lane that leads them home.
The porch stretches across the front and wraps all around both sides. Rocking chairs line the railings while cozy pillows lay in the swings which hang on each end. Baskets of purples, blues and reds hanging across the eves are a beautiful array of color to decorate this out door living space. In the back yard is a massive red barn. There are stacks of hay on one corner and the wagon is hitched for a late afternoon ride. All the friends are pitching in to make the backyard BBQ party a neighborhood hit. The grills are smoking and making me hungry.

Thoughts Encouragement from Candy
Thoughts
Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit. Words of King David. He sinned. Lust, adultry and murder in the first degree. He fasted and prayed for his child. The child died and David fasted no more. Can you imagine when David got to Heaven to meet His baby? There are lots of things in the bible that are a mystery. Sometimes my mind wonders at how awesome God's ways are. I cannot imagine being one of the many wives of David. I cannot imagine living in the days of replinishing the earth. Life is always in a constant state of change. If we are not careful we will miss our transformation. We are even told to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. When we think we have it all figured out we realize how far from the truth we actually are. His ways are so much higher than ours.
Summer heat is here. It sure is hot. Praise God for the season. Pray for rain. In a dry and thirsty land He is the one to send the water. Just like a hungry heart longs for the bread of heaven. He is the way maker. He is the one who opens and shuts doors. His ways and thoughts are too wonderful. Take time to enjoy life. It is passing by swiftly. Every day we pass up an oportunity to enjoy life is a day lost. Do not let your hours be stolen by worry. Trust God. Pray. Cling to Him.
My thoughts are with the women who cry for a child. With the mommy who suffers in prayer for her family. With the saint who is seeking for answers when they are unsure of what the questions are. Today my mind is wandering. Here and there. So many people with so many needs out there. Jesus is the answer. He is all you need. Lean not on those nearby but call on Jesus. He knows all about it. He can deal with it. We can trust Him to FIT IT! In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Ever thought about what GOD thinks about. He knows the thoughts He thinks toward you. They are peaceful ones. Blessing and honor and durable riches are in Him. He thinks of you all the time. Won't you keep Him in your heart today.

The Invisible Hand Encouragement from Candy!
The Invisible Hand
Thank the Lord for His strong right arm of righteousness. Praise Him with a new song. Praise Him with a dance. His hand is very near us. Guiding us in the right directions. Ordering our steps. Fighting for us along the way. Lifting us up when we fall. Brushing away all our tears. His hand in ours. What strength we have in that invisible hand. He nudges us when we ought to move. He feeds us with good things. He tugs our heart when should stop and wait on Him. He also gives us that correction we all need from time to time. There is no other hand I'd rather have my soul in.
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift [it] up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong [hand], and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry [them] in his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that are with young. Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or [being] his counsellor hath taught him? Isa 40: 9-13
His hands created man from the dust of the earth. All there earth is His and the fullness thereof. Everything that was created was created by Him and there was nothing created that was not created by Him. Such power. What a Wonder is our God! The Lord still has the scars to prove His love. He lifted our cross upon His shoulders. There is a promise in the bible to us as His children...whatsoever we put our hands to do shall prosper. Genesis 39:3 And his master saw that the LORD [was] with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. Even in captivity the Lord has His hands upon His chosen. Trust in that strong right arm of righteousness today.

Today Encouragement from Candy!
Today
In a world where there seems to be no good at all, GOD IS GOOD! We know that He told us we can cast all our cares on Him for He cares for us. TODAY can we just concentrate on the blessing we have TODAY and let tomorrow wait?? Who can fix anything, BUT GOD!!! So this is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice...and again I say REJOICE...and be glad in TODAY!!!!! Worrying about the stuff we aint got is just a waste of time!
I kept it short and sweet...Candy Smith / Morning Glory
Psalms 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Matthew 6:26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

KeyChain Encouragement from Candy!
KeyChain
Several years ago I had a request about a group that needed a bus. I prayed over this and mailed them an offering. It took a few years but they got a bus. Not too long after that they really needed to move to Nashville. I was shopping one day and saw a keychain. I was inspired to mail them this as a symbol of faith that they would soon hold the keys to the door God would open for them. They soon packed up and moved. None of this is about me. It is about the symbolism of our faith in the Faithful One.
I have a cross on my keychain. It serves as a reminder that my Lord loves me. No matter what I face I know He is for me. I pick up my keys several times a day so I am not about to forget that He is near me. He goes where I go. He can open and lock any door in my life. He is the key to living. All that I will ever need is in Jesus.
The other week I heard somebody talking about my keychain. It caught their eye. Today I have a keychain for them. I wonder what doors God will open for them in their life. I can only imagine. Our faith is what moves mountains. The keychain holds no power and neither did the pieces of apron cloth that was used as prayer cloths. It is not the oil but the anointing of God.
Today find something to carry around with you to symbolize your faith in God. Pick something that means something to you. Be sure it's something you will use a few times a day so that each time you look at it you will be reminded He is there with you. He is the Real thing left in this world of uncertainty. I am certain that no chains will not be able to hold us down today. I have the Lord on my side. That is all that counts.

Life! Encouragement from Candy
Life!
Jesus wants us to live our whole life to the fullest. Be happy and blessed and never let a mistake or regret hold you down. Have a good life in this moment we are in. Yesterday is gone. Who can go back? Tomorrow is something we hope for. Live life RIGHT NOW! Today is what we hold near. This is our moment. I want to live in victory today, not in the past, and not just to pray for victory in the future.
Live the abundant life God purposed you to have every chance you get! We are so blessed to have a God that created us so perfectly after Himself, and rather than crushing us down because of our unworthyness He chose to love us inspite of our frame. We are but dust and He remembers that. Live life with the purpose to enjoy every last second of it. Make it your praise unto Him. Once this part of life is over you will really just start to live. Eternity is a long time. Life! It is a vapor. Here today and gone tomorrow. Be sure to enjoy yours today. Reach out to those you love while you can and let them know you are blessed to have them in your life.
I pray all the mothers had a great time this weekend. Sometimes life can get complicated, frustrated, and we can end up jaded. Let our hearts linger near those we love. Let us live and please God in being glad not sad. Be happy not bitter. Bring hope to those who feel all alone. Lift up the hands that hang down and strengthen the feeble knees. Raise our voice in praise to the Lord of the whole earth. He gave us life. He wants us to be happy. His will is that we life it to the fullest! Enjoy every moment. Make it all count. Leave a legacy behind that others will be able to see how amazing our faithful Father is!
Let me leave you with a chorus to a song I wrote years ago for my mama. I wanted to share this with you this week for some reason.
A PRAYER FOR MAMA
Give mama her wings and let her fly / She has worked so hard all of her life / She has stood strong right through every trial / So give her wings Lord and let her fly

Love~ Encouragement From Candy
Love~
Every soul longs to be loved. The Bible says in Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Even God wants us to love Him. We are told to have no other gods besides Him. God is love. He loves us first. Without Him there is no love. Love the Lord God with all your heart, mind, soul, spirit and body. He longs to be the first thing you think of in the morning and the last thing at night. He is a jealous God.
There are a lot of hurt people in the world today that are holding in bitterness and hatred. If only they would let it go. Release that thing that eats you up inside and destroys your life. Put away the negative thoughts and teach your mind to concentrate on all the good things you have. Be a thankful and kinder person. You can start it today. Leave the past behind you. Take it one day at a time. If that is too much then start off slow. Take it one task at a time. Moment by moment you will find that as you dedicate you thoughts to counting your blessings you will begin to feel healing. God loves to bless those who love Him. Continue to read the rest of that Proverb. You will be amazed at what the Lord has written. It is written for our good.
As we receive this love let us share it with others. We all can tell somebody today about the love that God has shown to us. As we speak of His love it starts to glow. It becomes a light that chases the darkness away. We start to feel that love toward one another. This love allows us to forgive one another. Praise God for His perfect love. It casts out all fear and perfects who we are in Him.
